Architecture has always fascinated me. There is such visual impact in the lines, curves, and angles and how they relate to each other, especially in black and white. There is something about black and white photography that strips away all distractions and gets to the bare essence of the image. In architecture, the contrasts are striking. This also applies to nature. I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and feel fortunate living in a region that is so geographically and architecturally diverse. With just a relatively short drive from home, I can visit the ever-changing Oregon Coast, the majestic old growth forests, and awe-inspiring mountain ranges; or I can wander among a variety of architectural gems such as the ever-enduring lighthouses along the Oregon Coast, the grand old dames of downtown Portland, and the enormous air museum in Tillamook that gives one a feeling of following in the footsteps of giants.
